Golden Retrievers have a dense double coat that sheds year-round and blows out twice a year. The wrong grooming tools can damage their protective topcoat, which is why we deliberately exclude FURminator-style deshedding tools and recommend undercoat rakes and slicker brushes instead. Every grooming tool here has been tested on our own Goldens. We know what works on that coat without causing harm, and we explain exactly how to use each one.
