VERZEY Crate Pad for Large Dogs, 42 Inch

$28.04

A cheap soft crate pad that holds up. We have used this exact one across three crates for two years and there is no reason to pay more, as long as your dog is not a chewer.

Why We Pick This

You do not need an expensive kennel pad, and this is our honest opinion after using this exact one across three crates for two years. It is a generic soft crate mat with anti-slip backing, and there are a hundred functionally identical ones on Amazon under different brand names. Whichever is in stock at a reasonable price is fine.

The 42 inch size is what fits our 42 inch crates for a full-grown Golden. It is machine washable, holds shape well through repeated washes, and the faux fur surface is soft enough that our dogs actually use them instead of pushing them aside.

One honest caveat: if your dog chews their bedding, no pad survives. Not this one, not the $80 one. A crate mat is not going to change a chewing habit. If that is your situation, an antler or a Kong stuffed and frozen belongs in the crate, and you replace pads when they fail. Ours are not chewers, so a cheap replaceable pad has been the right answer.

This is a crate pad, not an orthopedic bed. Different job. For where your Golden actually spends the day, look at the orthopedic beds in this category.
